As cool as theses things are, really Acer eee is where its at.
The thin I'd most want in an ulta portable computer is to feel safe to take it anywhere, 1800$+ is a little bit of a psychological barrier to that.
Check the eee, around $300, not quite as thin, but smaller in the other dimensions.
The specs aren't as almighty, but for the basic stuff you need when out and about its got you covered - and there's an active mod scene.
They are making one with a bigger screen, which the only turn off right now.
So I'll take 6 of those while you enjoy your macbook air.
